If you have ordered a picnic lunch for
your tour, we will stay a little longer at one of the wineries and
have a catered picnic buffet. It is customary to purchase a bottle
of wine from the designated lunch location winery to enjoy with
your meal - we provide non-alcoholic beverages with the picnic.

Lunch at Savannah-Chanelle Vineyards, Saratoga
Our wine tour lunch is a catered
gourmet picnic, served buffet-style using attractive serve-ware
on a separate table with a table cloth, served using designer paper
plates with coordinating paper napkins and stainless flatware eating
utensils (no plastic forks!). Each lunch costs $22.50 per person
- in addition, most of the wineries also charge a facility/set-up
fee of $5.00 to $10.00 per person.
Picnic lunches (listed below) are
prepared by the kitchen staff at South Bay Wine Tours - for lunches
or winery dinners that require chafing dishes/hot food or waiter
service, please ask your tour planner for a current full-service
catering menu.
$22.50 per person. (includes tax
& gratuity, plus a staff person present to toss the salad and
serve the group)
Please make one selection per
group from the menu below:
California Picnic Buffet
The California picnic is our most popular lunch
because the sandwiches are delicious, you get a nice tossed salad,
and this lunch also offers great variety for everyone, including
the Vegetarians in the group:
- a gourmet selection of petite sandwiches on
assorted homemade breads
- salad: Mixed Greens & crisp Romaine with
dried cranberries, feta on the side, and tossed with Balsamic
vinaigrette
- a bowl of gourmet chips (such as Maui onion
chips)
- stuffed grape leaves (filled with a savory
rice filling) & dill pickle tray
- fresh fruit (organic when available)
Country Picnic
- potato or Southwestern pasta salad
- herb-marinated, barbecued chicken breast (served
chilled)
- fresh grapes & berries or a tray of fresh
fruit kebobs
- brownie or cookie
Mediterranean Platters (for
small groups of 10 or less, or as a snack for larger groups)
The perfect accompaniment to a bottle of
wine, these platters offer a plentiful & gourmet selection of
finger foods with lots of variety. Platters are placed in the middle
of the picnic table (not buffet-style like our other lunches), and
each platter is made to serve the number of people sitting at each
table. Everyone then serves themselves from the platter.
These platters may also be ordered as a
snack to serve at one of the wineries during the tour.
- herbed dry-cured olives
- a section of gourmet cheeses (up to 3 cheeses,
such as Double Cream Gouda, Rosemary Malagon, St. Andre Brie,
Vermont White Cheddar, etc.)
- sliced baguette + cracker breads such as rosemary
croccantini
- stuffed grape leaves (rice filling)
- hummus
- fresh grapes
