Summer/Fall Public Tour Series

Looking for a fun thing to do in the San Francisco Bay Area? Check out our Summertime wine tours that are open to the public - we sell the seats individually, so you don't need your own group (but feel free to bring one!). And if you like the tour but can't make the date, we are happy to re-create any of our public tours into a private tour just for you and your friends!

Los Gatos Summit Wine & Cheese Tour
(12:30 pm to 6:00 pm)

Wrights Station, Silver Mountain Vineyards, and Regale Winery

Join us for a little bit of wine and cheese heaven, in the beautiful Summit region of the Santa Cruz Mountains - it will be a day of meeting local winemaker-owners, taking in some beautiful mountain views and fresh air, and enjoying some really good wines. (especially Pinot Noir!) Hosted by your fun & friendly guide, Dan Janakes!

Wrights Station's patio

We begin the tour with the Club Member's tasting at beautiful Regale Winery, a Tuscan-style beauty with gorgeously-landscaped grounds and bocce ball with a view. You'll try some of their Sonoma County wines, in addition to good ol' estate-grown Pinot Noir.

Next, we visit Silver Mountain Vineyards, for an upgraded tasting of some lovely Pinot Noirs with Marcie- and maybe Spencer, the winery dog, will join us for part of the visit if he's not too busy hunting gophers.

Finally, we'll finish the tour with a delectable final stop at the new and farm-style gorgeous Wrights Station! Just opened this Summer, Wrights Station was 5 years in the making, a labor of love for Dan Lokteff (formerly of Storrs Winery in Santa Cruz) and wife Molly, who bought the property in 2009 and began renovating the old farm house that was on the property, into the new Tasting Room. Dan will host the group for a tour of the vineyard, where he grows both Chardonnay & Pinot Noir. It will be fun!

But let's not forget the cheese tasting! Grab a plate and go down the cheese buffet line - it will amaze you! Starting out with some triple-cream Brie yumminess (a few different ones to choose from), we'll also have some Parrano Gouda, a nice British Cotswald cheddar, the rare and wonderful Tete de Moine - shaved into "carnation flowers" right before your eyes on the Swiss Girolle, some sheep cheese, a few of the goat variety, and perhaps a pear Peccorino or a mango Wenslydale for the sweet ending. All of this cheesey scrumptiousness is of course accompanied by the best in cheese-tasting accoutrements - fresh-baked sourdough baguette, rosemary croccantini, dry-cured French herbed olives, sweet organic grapes, and more!! Relax on the patio at Wrights Station, with amazing mountain-scape views, a wonderful glass of wine, and some new best friends - what could be better than this beautiful local area of ours?

Gilroy & Morgan Hill Wine Tour
(11:30 am to 4:30 pm)

Satori Cellars, Clos La Chance, and Castillo's Hillside Shire

Have you ever had pink Chardonnay, or walked a secret passageway? Had lunch with a view, and a serenade, too? Join us on May 25th and you'll experience these things and more as we tour 3 of our favorite Gilroy/Morgan Hill area wineries!

Castillo's family property

This tour begins with a visit to tiny Satori Cellars where the tasting begins with Chardonnay of the Pink-Ray (true un-oaked Chard with a touch of blush from the estate Petite Syrah), and ends with one of their award-winning reds (we'll try 4 wines here altogether). Satori is a family-run winery, owned by husband and wife team Sandy and Tom Moller - Tom's the winemaker, Sandy's the Everything Else, and much of what they produce is grown on their surrounding property.

Next, we head over to Clos LaChance for the upgraded wine tasting and time for a delicious boxed lunch picnic on the patio - with great views of rolling hills and the Cordevalle golf resort. Following lunch, we'll take a tour behind the scenes where we'll see the production area, portable bottling line, gigantic barrel room, and then we'll walk the secret passageway back to the Tasting Room where the winery offers our guests a 20% discount on wine purchases.

Finally, we pop over to Castillo's Hillside Shire Winery - and yes, you guessed it - this is where you just may be serenaded, by one of the singing Castillos - they pretty much all sing, and one also plays guitar, so it's a fun way to end the tour - tasting wine inside an authentically created Hobbit Shire, alongside the family mansion on the hill, overlooking the lake with swans and geese while sipping away...

We hope you'll join us!

$75 tour + $15 boxed lunch = $90 total pp. Price includes 5-hour tour with transportation, tour guide, tasting fees paid at 3 wineries, winery tour at Clos La Chance, and gourmet boxed lunch. Tour is limited to 15 people - buy your ticket soon!

Time: Meet the bus at 11:00 am at the Camden Ave Park & Ride, located at the Camden Ave exit off Highway 85. Parking is free, and there's lots of it.
